Gen_1 is a generative, gestural and interactive project. Gesture is imperative to thinking and learning, a phenomenon understood as integral to communication, and arises from simulated action (Novak and Goldin-Meadow, 2017). Between cultures where language cannot permeate, gesture is universal in moving beyond boundaries. Gen_1 utilises coding, an inaccessible language for some, but performs it function by sole use of the hands, inviting the user to move, to dance, to feel this power that we all share. All images produced are completely unique and each performance produces an image to mark each interaction as though a dialogue and conversation.
