As Above,
So Below

Young Herefordshire artists Maddie McVeigh, Belle Batkin and Ollie Lansdell present their 360 VR exploration of the River Wye, its life today and its historical context as the main artery for lumber transport in the region, which is mostly forgotten. The piece includes 360 drone footage that descends into the river itself to give viewers a glimpse of a part of ‘unseen’ Herefordshire, the bubbling, broiling energy of the Wye itself. The installation is a collision of Maddie’s visual artist work, Belle’s multi-platform maker practice and Ollie’s digital filmmaking skills, using readily available kit and software to demonstrate what is possible for anyone to achieve in VR.

This was an Arts Council England and Invisible Arts Network supported project.

Within this role I was lead researcher, project manager and curator for our main exhibition in Hereford city. Within this exhibition, we exhibited alongside the Stand and Stare Collective.

The exhibitions of the work were as follows:

11th - 15th July 2019 at the Old Market, Hereford, Herefordshire
21st - 28th October at Hereford College of Arts Library, Hereford, Herefordshire
27th February 2020 - Tarrington Hall, Tarrington, Herefordshire
6 - 8th March 2020, Borderlines Film Festival, The Courtyard Theatre, Hereford, Herefordshire
